Fun Saturday!

We had an awesome day today :) After Ethan woke up from his nap this morning, we headed down to Rookwood to go to the natural baby event. We had lunch at Boston Market first and then headed over to Whole Foods. We got to talk with another mom regarding her home birth and experience, and hear about legislature that they are trying to get passed to allow Certified Practical Midwives to be able to do home deliveries in Ohio. Very interesting! She had a home VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) water birth for her second child and had an awesome experience. We found out that one of our midwives had been there, but had left early so we didn't get to see her. We walked around and did some taste testing, and got a few recipes for homemade baby food (they had yummy acorn squash, but it had brown sugar in it, and we're not sure if Ethan can have sweetener yet). Ethan tried out the Earth's Best banana/apple/raspberry baby food and he loved it! I had to go back to get another sample because he wanted more :)

We headed up to Lebanon to walk around at AppleFest. There was a lot more to it than I thought it would be, and a lot more people there! There were lots of crafty/primitives booths with cute fall and Christmas decorations. We went into the Fella Bella shop and they actually had the Ergo carriers this time, so we tried one on. I didn't care for it as much as I thought it would - I don't really think it's worth the $100+ price tag! So, the journey continues to find a comfy baby carrier. We had our first apple cider of the season and got a couple small pieces of fudge. Yum!

After we left AppleFest, we went over to Dad and Anne's for dinner to celebrate Brad, Dad, and my birthdays! We had an awesome dinner with chicken and noodles, veggies, and beer bread. Ethan had carrots for dinner, and even tried some of the bread and really liked it! He had an awesome time playing with Shawn. It is so fun to watch them play together and Shawn does a great job sharing with Ethan! Ethan pulled himself standing to the couch and even took a few little steps when he was playing with Shawn and Uncle Brad! Grandpa worked so hard getting the dishes done, and then we had delicious pumpkin torte for dessert! Thank you so much Dad and Anne for the awesome dinner and birthday gift! We got Ethan changed into his jammies before we left, and he conked out as soon as we got him in the car. He didn't even make a peep when we got home and put him in bed!
